Our Editorial Policy
At PureCalc, we believe that health and clinical information must be accurate, accessible, and grounded in rigorous science. Here is how we ensure the integrity of our calculators.
The PureCalc Editorial Team
All content, formulas, and clinical guides on our platform are researched and written by the PureCalc Editorial Team. Our team consists of dedicated health informatics specialists and technical researchers who painstakingly translate complex clinical algorithms into user-friendly tools. We do not accept guest posts or unsolicited content to ensure our standards remain uncompromising.
Medical Review Process
While our editorial team conducts the primary research, we understand the critical nature of health data. We actively partner with a network of board-certified physicians, pharmacists, and clinical experts to validate our tools.
When an article or calculator displays a "Medically Reviewed" badge alongside the author, it indicates that a credentialed medical professional has thoroughly audited the underlying formulas, clinical context, and safety disclaimers for complete accuracy. If a page does not yet have this badge, it is undergoing our rigorous internal review queue.
Sourcing & Citations
We believe in showing our work. Our content is strictly backed by primary sources. We rely exclusively on peer-reviewed medical journals, academic institutions, and government health organizations (such as the NIH, FDA, WHO, and ACOG).
At the bottom of our tools, you will find an expandable Article Sources section that provides direct, transparent links to the clinical studies and official guidelines used to construct our algorithms.
Corrections & Updates
Clinical science is constantly evolving, and so are our tools. We conduct routine audits of our calculators to ensure they reflect the latest medical consensus. If new guidelines are published (such as the updated CKD-EPI equation for eGFR), we prioritize updating our algorithms and clearly noting the update date on the page. If you believe you have spotted an error, please contact us.
Independence & Advertising Policy
PureCalc is free to use. To support our operations and keep our tools accessible to everyone, we may generate revenue through carefully vetted advertising partnerships and affiliate offers.
However, our editorial and clinical integrity is absolute. Advertisers and partners never influence our content, algorithms, or medical reviews. Our medical review board evaluates formulas purely on clinical merit, independent of any commercial relationships. We also maintain a strict separation between our editorial team and our advertising team to ensure unbiased information.
Disclaimer: PureCalc provides educational tools and estimations based on standardized formulas. Our content should never replace professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider regarding medical conditions.
